Innovation Express: From Search to Draft 

Caraga State University - "𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭" workshop, organized by the Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO) through the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program, proved to be a resounding success during its implementation from April 22 to 24, 2024. Participants representing Research and Development Institutions (RDI) centers completed the workshop armed with essential patent drafting skills, confident to innovate and safeguard their ideas.

Spearheaded by the RAISE Program Leader and TTLO Director, Kenneth L. Ciudad, and continuous guidance from the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, Engr. Jeffry T. Dellosa, the workshop was proof of our commitment to fostering innovation.

Fresh from Intellectual Property Master Class (IPMC) Training, our esteemed Faculty Technical Experts serving as speakers, Engr. Juven Luzorata for Mechanical and Engr. Sherwin Boholano for Chemical shared invaluable insights on patent drafting structures and techniques. Their expertise enriched our understanding of writing patent applications, abstracts, descriptions, and the formulation of patent claims. 

Consequently, Full-time Technical Experts, Engr. JAG Rulona and Engr. Lord Silong, alongside a specialist from CSU Cabadbaran Campus, Engr. Jayson Loreto provided comprehensive talks on patent search tools, strategies, classification, and invention spotting.

RDI center Directors and Representatives presented their prior art search, technology disclosures, and the patent draft with claims, showcasing their dedication to innovation and IP protection.
