The Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program at Caraga State University (CSU) recently concluded a dynamic two-day workshop focused on Regional Communication Plan Development. The event, held on March 11–12 at the CSU HERO Learning Commons – Boardroom in Ampayon, Butuan City, was a collaborative effort led by Project 1 Intellectual Property-Technology Business Management (IPTBM) under the leadership of Prof. Kenneth L. Ciudad, and Project 4 Knowledge Management Hub (KHM), overseen by Prof. Meycel C. Amarille.
Engaging participants included staff from various RAISE program projects, directors from selected CSU Research and Development Institution (AGAK and CCPD), staff from the CSU Public Information and Communication Office (PICO), as well as project managers and staff from Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) and North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) IPTBM.
Dr. Sherryl L. Paz, the CSU Research Director, warmly welcomed participants and set a positive tone for the event. Ms. Renalyn G. Padoginog, the resource speaker, delivered valuable insights on communication models, methods, strategies, and techniques for creating effective communication plans. She skillfully guided participants in refining their outputs, particularly in the areas of analysis, strategies, and the essential components of a communication plan. Constructive critiquing, dialogue, and feedback were integral during the presentation of each project's outputs, contributing to the enhancement of the regional development plan.
The workshop concluded with participants sharing their impressions and takeaways. A key lesson emphasized during the event was the importance of transactional communication, promoting a two-way flow of ideas and emphasizing understanding not only the target audience's field of experience but also a shared field of experience. The success of the workshop reflects CARAGA RAISE's commitment to elevating the technology commercialization efforts of participating CCAARRD Member Institutions (CMIs) throughout the region.
