The Intellectual Property Masterclass (IPMC) is one of the capacity-building training sessions initiated by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) for the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System and Enhancement (RAISE) program batch 2. It is a five-module training provided by the Association of PAQE Professionals, Inc. (APP).
During the recently concluded 6th IPMC, hosted by Isabela State University on January 24-26, 2024, in Cauayan City, Isabela, Caraga State University (CSU) was awarded as the Top Patent Filer. The award recognizes the university's efforts in filing the most number of patent applications among the participating Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) projects in the country since the start of the RAISE Program Batch 2 on October 1, 2023.
Two CSU delegates, Engr. Juven G. Luzorata and Engr. Sherwin Boholano, successfully completed the intensive training program. They graduated alongside their peers from Caraga, including delegates from Northeastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) - Engr. Luzminda S. Bacquial and Mr. Virgilio T. Ombao, Jr., and Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) - Dr. Rodel L. Oclaret and Cyrus Jay E. Galendez, all members of the Caraga Consortium for Agriculture and Resources Research and Development (CCARRD). Led by their regional program leader, Prof. Kenneth Ciudad, these delegates actively participated in the program, gaining valuable knowledge and skills in intellectual property protection and management.
